The brightness of several light sources has already been given, but we can not obtain any data concerning frosted lamp bulb, and luminaires.
So we measured the brightness of frosted lamp bulbs, globes and semi-indirect bowls, and obtained the following relations:
The brightness of frosted bulb surfaces increases with-not directly proportional to-the increases of the rated capacity of the lamp.
Semi-indirect bowls and opal globes show the clear relation between the size and surface brightness; i. e. the brightness is proportional to the spherical candle power of the lamp and inversely proportional to the square of the diameter. But as to the Alabaster or ordinary frosted glass globes the above relations do not strictly hold.
