The International Temperature Scale of 1927 is revised to that of 1948, and its effect is calucu-lated here for the true temperatures of Tungsten.
The Main changes occur on the range above gold point.
The change of value of the C
2 in the blackbody radiation formule effects mostly and determines the direction of the total effect, and the influences of difference of the gold point or change of radiation formula from Wen's to Planck's are rather slight.
The results of calculation are shown in the interval 1000-3300°K by step of 100 degrees.
The old true temperatures are higher 7.6, 12.4 and 18.6 degrees than the new ones at new 2400, 2800 and 3200 K respectively.
When the old value of C
2 1.435cm deg. is used in the calculation the changes of temperature are found to be about half as compared with the case C
2 1.438cm deg.
