Two kinds of amphiploids, sativa-latifolia (AACCDD, 2n=72) and sativa-minuta (AABBCC, 2n=72) were synthesized successfully from the crosses between induced polyploid parents by taking 4x-sativa on the female side. In those amphiploids, anthers were rudimentary in development or lacked at all, while ovaries were normal in shape and function, setting a few seeds by pollen of their parents.
