This paper is intended as an investigation of “bird's-eye view drawing for a project of San Pietro” by Baldassarre Peruzzi, who is one of architect in High Renaissance Italy. The purpose here is to elucidate the development of perspective theories in Renaissance Italy. I consider the subject under the following heads : (1) the existence of vanishing point and the drawing method of this bird's-eye view drawing, (2) the perspective theory of Peruzzi which infer from the description in Vignola's
Le due regole della prospettiva pratica...... (1583) . These analysis lead to the conclusion that the perspective construction of Peruzzi is the method which is necessarily decided width's measure based on a decision of height's measure of a figure by a diagonal line in a picture plane.
