Recently, many institutional repositories mainly manage bibliographic material (for example, journal papers and bulletins). On the other hand, academic resources other than bibliographic material such as photographs, animations, and observational data are beyond the scope of the registration in many cases, though they are very useful for education and research. We studied problems in constructing a digital repository for non-bibliographic material, and proposed a way of managing numbers of digital contents, visualizing these contents by means of geographic information and offering a cross-reference environment over various metadata. We realized a general-purpose academic resource repository excellent in visibility and maintainability by improving DSpace, which is one of the conventional repositories. In the present paper, we introduce outline of the developed repository and its application to several kinds of non-bibliographic material.
