The Kansai metropolitan area is called a "private railroad kingdom." The Kansai 5 major private railway line is operated by the Kintetsu, Keihan, Nankai, Hankyu, and Hanshin railways. They have competed to develop the area along the railway line and have been one of the developers in the Kansai metropolitan area. In this research, we aimed to quantitatively analyze the area along the Kansai 5 major private railway line from a cultural value perspective and clarify the characteristics of the railway line. In the analysis, we created a frequency matrix of the cultural institutions around each station, and we analyzed the matrix using a topic model called Latent Dirichlet Allocation that focused on the information itself of the count data. As a result, it was found that six characteristics can potentially define the Kansai 5 major private railway line. In addition, we were able to classify the major routes of each private railway into three based on these characteristics: "Routes that have historical lines and a community-based commercial area;" "Routes that connect the city center and the suburbs therebetween, with good living environment;" and "Routes in the city center and academic district, used for commuting and attending school."

　A career development of the author is stated ,which started as a researcher in the economic and industry field in an independent research organization, using wide variety of statistical data and government publication. A transfer to library department opened to information professional through a reference librarian and a database searcher, when many kinds of commercial bibliographic database services started in Japan, The next step was a consultant for various clients most of which were the companies in utilities, trading and construction. At last, some topics on “economics and information”are stated.
