This paper describes the process of constructing the database system of “ Chokusen Waka Collection”and the explanation about its database function And also we reports on some measurement and analysis using that database function.
We used a machine learning approach to “Chokusen Waka Collection” in reports at the 25th and 26th Annual Conference of Japan Society of Information and Knowledge. We struggled to make data for the analysis. Therefore, we will construct a database system to realize the ease of data creation in order to continue the research to “Chokusen Waka Collection”.

In this study, in order to clarify the relationship between Japanese folk songs’ melody and Japanese phonology, we conducted an analysis of rhythm using the nPVI. The nPVI is an index that quantifies the distinction between stress-timed and syllable-timed languages and has recently been used for comparative analysis of rhythms in western music history. In this study, the difference in the agogic contrasts was clarified by comparing the nPVI value with the folk songs from each region.

In recent years, many administrative organizations and local governments are engaged in opening and utilizing open data but until the data utilization has not reached where the government promotes "data can be secondarily used without much manpower being machine-readable". The government has been promoting open data by formulating the "Electronic Administrative Open Data Strategy" in 2012 and operating the data catalog site "DATA.GO.JP" in 2014. Under the open data of local governments, even if they are disclosed due to the difference in data format and the lack of linkage of data, there is no active utilization yet. In this research, we propose a predicate vector method that measures the similarity of data by vectorizing item names and item values of CSV data disclosed to explore the possibility of open data of a local government. We also investigated the possibility of linkage between each data using the predicate vector method.

With the spread of the Internet, the role of libraries has relatively diminished, and the search for a new library image has begun. In order to build a new library, there is an increase in libraries that can focus on marketing and branding, considering that it is effective to apply existing methods to library management. This research focus on brand strategy and aim to consider the model suitable for the library. The method of the research is as follows. First, select a branding model as a standard, and based on that model, a library that has stated that it has carried out branding and a library that has not said that it has carried out branding, but it has a reputation for having made advanced attempts. Investigate the library. Based on the obtained results, we analyze two libraries and consider whether the selected branding model is suitable as a library branding model.

In recent years, research data management supporters in institutions are as important as research data management. However, the definition of the data librarian is not well defined. In this study, we conducted a literature survey and considered the definition and duties of the data librarian, and created the lists of common skills required for data librarians. Finally, we discuss the organizational model of research data management support in Japanese academic institutions.

Depression has remained one of the top causes of disability in the Philippines. From 2000 to 2012, WHO reported over 2, 000 cases of suicide wherein majority who died were aged 15 to 29 years. There is also a possibility that these statistics are under-reported because depression and other mental illnesses are harder to detect. Even more so, individuals suffering from mental illnesses tend to deny or hide the illness due to culture and perceived stigma on mental illnesses. Multiple studies have suggested that education is an effective means to reduce such stigma. Therefore, a web application has been developed to verify if the use of such tools increases mental health literacy, awareness, and help-seeking tendencies. The application measured the Filipino worker’s mental health (in terms of depression, motivation, empathy, and self-efficacy) and provided additional information to increase the user’s literacy on depression, motivation, empathy, and self-efficacy. User review questionnaires were sent to the application users. As of current writing, majority of user reviews indicate content and usability satisfaction (59%, 22 user reviews). Positive user review data suggests that there is a potential uptake of mental health applications.

The technique of image captioning enables us to automatically generate a caption for an image, which has attracted significantly increasing attention in recent years. However, image captioning is far from being resolved and remains an open challenge. In this work, we propose to utilize the key informative words (referred to as hint words) that are associated with an image to generate a high-quality caption for this image. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach for image captioning, on one hand, we propose a number of methods for selecting informative hint words. On the other hand, we conduct a series of experiments on a benchmark dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that: (1) the proposed approach is able to generate captions with richer information, and outperforms the baseline method; (2) the number of hint-words and the Parts of Speech (POS) information are important indicators for selecting hint words.

Women participation and representation in key positions, governance, and decision making organs lower than that of men despite a high number in the population. They do not have enough seats in local governments, parliamentary houses, judiciary, and the executive houses as well. The proposed solution is Online community application named Wanawake Tujijenge. The system is intended to be used by any woman in Tanzania by creating ways in organizing women network in politics. As a platform for communication among women they can discuss political matters, share knowledge, skills in leadership, raise awareness of women political activism and promote positive norms regarding women’s equal participation and representation in leadership. The system was tested and verified by several users in Tanzania and usability satisfaction is 75%

Recent years, to overcome the flood of information, recommender systems (RSs) are being used in many scenarios, such as online shopping stores, movie website and so on. However, many recommender algorithms focus on accuracy based on a user profile, which may lead to reducing user's satisfaction. As high-accuracy based RSs suggest similar items that the user may have known before. As a result, the recommendation leads to hurt user’s satisfaction. And there is a concept called serendipity which is a way to address this problem. This paper focuses on improving the serendipity of the RSs. We use two approaches, the variety of resources in Linked Data and author similarity. We extract author information from DBpedia dataset, which is one of the datasets in Linked Data. Then we calculate author similarity based on this information. This paper describes methods of book recommendations from the Book-Crossing dataset, reports recommendation results and discusses our recommender system according to our results.

Digest sentences of baseball game are written manually nowadays. These sentences are written by many writers with different perspectives and contained professional expression about play. There are some automatic generation researches which conveying about digest of baseball game, but there are insufficient to pick up a plate appearance where the situation changed most during the game. There are the methods which measure a player’s contribution to a win using change of win expectancy among that for statistically analyzing baseball game. In this paper, automatic generation of digest sentences are used this change of winning probability. Following the analysis of existing digest documents, each sentence is into template and words are replaced to variables. A program that applies input play-by play and box scores to variables is created. Texts on outline part of victory which are made automatically are including same contents in comparison with sentences which are written manually. Sentences which are written automatically about a batter who made an active part are based on objective viewpoint by using winning probability. In the future, the program needs to make improvement about description for effective batters. Furthermore, it is necessary to describe about pitchers or why the team is lost.

In recent years, as use of the smart phone becomes widespread, new data sets for which people utilize their location information are developed. As AR creates the new data sets utilizing location information, the necessity of looking at data from a unfettered viewpoint is increasing. So, using A-Frame, the author displays the guidance information with AR on the Web in Japanese, English, and Chinese. "Hirasawakanga-iseki Ruin," the district office placed from the Nara era to Heian era located in Tsukuba City will be introduced.
