Abstract: The Courses of Study (March 2017) were applied fully for the junior high school students in 2021, and the students enter Colleges of Technology (KOSEN) in 2022. The Courses of Study (Curriculum Guidelines) have been revised about every ten years, and they contain many important points which aim to enrich the content of education. The College of Technology does not need to apply the Courses of Study, but it is necessary for teachers at the colleges to understand them well. This paper examines some points in the revision, and checks the English curriculum of the National Institute of Technology, Kisarazu College.

This paper points out the influence of the Noh script on the structure of Kyusaku Yumeno's two novels. Yumeno's two novels, "Dr. Inugami" and "Dr. Chojin," have a structure that cannot be captured within the framework of modern novels. It was clarified that these two novels were written by Yumeno with the two-part composition of the Noh script in mind. In addition, by abandoning the "personality" that the hero is bound by sociality, he sublimated the anxiety about the relationship between the hero and society, and clarified the path for the hero to become a "superhuman."

This paper examined the effect of sharing "questions and answers" that complemented distance learning. In addition, we presented an example of its use in face-to-face lessons and demonstrated its effects. The following three points have been clarified in this paper. (1) Even if it is a distance lesson, the lesson can be done effectively if the question and answer session with the students is properly conducted. (2) Students want to share the answers to individual student questions with all students. In addition, a certain effect should be recognized in the learning of each student. (3) Face-to-face lessons have higher expectations for students themselves and teachers than distance lessons, and at the same time increase stress.

Nakamura Masanao translated Smiles' Self-Help and received a great response. Nakamura have moved to England at the end of the Edo period and was an intellectual who represents the early Meiji era. Self-Help was very welcomed by Japanese people seeking a successful career and studying western civilization. More than 1 million people read this book. The tendency to respect efforts and humble the poor has spread in Japan. The emphasis on art and technology in this book was not accepted.

TaiwanNichinichisinpo is a Japanese newspaper that represents Taiwan during the Japanese colonial era. This newspaper had a strong connection with the Government-General of Taiwan and had many readers in Taipei city. Many of the engineers of this era worked for the Government-General of Taiwan. Examining engineers' contributions to newspapers reveals many things. They sometimes talked about hobbies and ideas other than specialized ones in the newspaper.

In Japan, Mie Prefecture and Edogawa Ward in Tokyo have started to use AI to deal with child abuse and the use of AI is expected to improve operations markedly. However, some ethical issues may arise when AI is entrusted with such tasks. In this paper, we examine the potential risks of using AI for abuse response. Specifically, we analyze the risks of increasing dependence on AI, the problems of extending the scope of risk assessment, and the issues of considering AI as an agent of moral judgment.

In 2020, under the influence of a pandemic outbreak of COVID-19, an entire shift from face-to-face class to distance learning made us consider how to keep students’ motivation for English classes. We suppose that one of the keys to motivate students is to utilize English qualification exams such as EIKEN and English technical writing test in the class. This paper reports the effectiveness of distance learning with English qualification exams focusing on the group of middle-level students and shows the importance of continuity of learning, which will lead them to successful result in the next semester in 2021. Especially, motivation for English technical writing test is one of the good examples in terms of continuity.

There are some learners who find it difficult to pronounce English words. Until now, I have taught such learners how to pronounce correctly using phonetic symbols and how to pronounce English words using phonics. There were some results, but sometimes it took time to teach, and the learners got tired of it. Therefore, I thought that there was a way to learn them like a game, so I created cards with the alphabet on the front and the correct pronunciation on the back and devised a teaching method while having fun using them. The main character of the novel Kuushin Techou lied that she was "I’m pregnant", trigger ed by a variety of absurd incidents she received at the company. This innovative setting is often f eatured in newspapers and magazines as "a record of a woman’s ongoing battle against harassment." However, the narrator makes it clear that this lie was not planned. In addition, this novel is a first-person novel that incorporates the style of "notebook" that records the events of "four days ago." Therefore, in this paper, we would like to separate Kuushin Techou from its reputation as "a record of woman’s continuous struggle against harassment." Then, we are going to reread it as a story of the main character changing herself while objectively reflecting on her problems.

New KOSEN’s had been established at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang (KMITL) in 2019 and at King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thonburi (KMUTT) in 2020. They are abbreviated as “KOSEN-KMITL” and “KOSEN KMUTT,” respectively. The author was dispatched to KOSEN-KMITL in 2019–2020 as a mathematics instructor. They are really new education system in Thailand, therefore we need to develop the curriculum, textbooks, syllabi, handouts in class, drills, and other every kind of education methodology. The author had edited four textbooks as well as daily drills, examination questions and answers within these two years. In addition, he was twice involved in the admission office for developing the entrance examination. Still after returning Japan, he continues to write other textbooks because the tasks in Bangkok are rather heavy for the present instructors.

Chemical experiments, in a course of Fundamental Chemistry IA, were organized with restrictions on implementation due to an infectious disease. Seven ways to prevent infection provided the experiments. Although some experiments which were previously planned to be done by students replaced demonstrative experiments by teachers, we were able to secure learning opportunities to experience and bring awareness to the students. These activities would be also beneficial for post-infection class planning.

From the end of Edo to Meiji era, Japan suffered from repeated cholera pandemics, in one of which more than 100,000 people were killed. Therefore, in the early period of Meiji era, the spread of Western-style modern water and sewerage systems was urgently needed. The first sewerage system in Japan was built in a foreign settlement in Yokohama by Richard Henry Brunton who was a hired foreign engineer from England. And then, the sewerage construction was taken over by Zentaro Mita, a Japanese civil engineer. The purpose of this report is to trace the trajectory left by both parties in Japanese sewerage engineering as a reference for providing assistance to developing countries in the field of public health engineering.

In 2016, I and Mr. Yoshimitsu Yamazaki, a faculty member of Akita University, were selected for the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research. Since then, we have been jointly researching the old collection of author Ango Sakaguchi. The collection is now carefully preserved at Niitsu Art Museum and is a valuable archive. Ango wrote notes in those books, which is very interesting. However, in recent years we have not been able to investigate the archive due to the COVIT-19 epidemic. So we have managed to carry out our research by prioritizing data organization. This paper is an interim report on the characteristics of the collection and the writing method of Ango, which were clarified by the research.

The purpose of engineering is to achieve and maintain the well-being of mankind through the planning, realization and conservation of systems that utilize the resources and properties of nature. Economic activities using engineering techniques have brought material wealth to the lives of mankind. On the other hand, as we all know, the sustainability of the global environment continues to decline rapidly due to increasing pollution of the environment and depletion of resources. Control engineering is the art of improving and maintaining the ideal behavior of various systems by studying their dynamics in a usually quantitative manner. Will the control engineering of today be able to sustainably control such global dynamics? Or are there underlying defects in itself that prevent it from being sustainable? In this article, changes in the representation of control systems, which form the basis of control engineering, are investigated in textbooks available in my college. The results of this investigation confirmed that the representation of control systems has remained virtually unchanged for the last 60 years.
