An evaluation-method of the fit of Kimonos with the clothoid and the ordinary curve of the back neckline was studied by using a split-plot design technique. At first a countable quality for fitness was determined. Next the measuring position for fitness was selected. Then, using two kimonos ― one with a clothoid curve and the other with an ordinary curve in the back neckline ―, experiments of comparison were carried out from the stand-point of the fit and the resulting beauty of the kimono-collars.

  As a result, it was found that the kimono with the clothoid curve of the back neckline fitted significantly and was more beautiful than one with the ordinary curve.

  Survey on a taste, an image and a satisfactory degree in school uniform was made at junior high school, senior high school, junior college and college. The method of survey is just like as in part 1 and part 2. The findings were obtained as follows ;

  Students who dislike school uniform

    1. are not a few at the school which has not prescribed school uniform.

    2. are not a few at public school, especially at junior high school, senior high school and college.

    3. are not a few more in the region thickly populated than in the region thinly populated.

  Regard to an image of school uniform, words such as studentlike, economic and easy are remarkably seen among students at junior high school and seniorhigh school and critical words such as rustic, insanitary and killing personality are greatly seen among students at junior college and college. A satisfactory degree of school uniform is higher among students of lower grade than among those of higher grade.

  Our experiment was conducted to investigate the skin temperature of the three standard lines on clothing (neck. arm. waist).

  In this connection about young females were mesured in rest, walk (75±5m/min) and rest again after walk, their skin temperature about the conditions of nude (28±0.5℃) and clothed in basic dress (21±0.5℃).

  The following results were obtained.

    1) The skin temperature on neck line and waist line, right and left stands higher than flont and back. For arm line, under stands higher than flont, up and back.

    2) By walking, the skin temperature of three all standard lines, flont has a tendency to be more down than back, and during rest after walk, the skin temperature of waist line has a tendency to be up.

  The possibility to detect the toxicity of chemical substances by observing the growth of ciliate protozoan ‟Tetrahymena” cultivated in the medium with the chemical substance is now being studied in our laboratory.

  As a part of the study, toxity of six kinds of raw material of cloth-softners and of two kinds of cloth-softners on the market have been investigated by the method above mentioned, and the toxicitis were compared with that of Formalin.

  The growth of Tetrahymena was not hindered by the low concentration of every raw material of cloth-softner, but over some concentration the growth was hindered sever er in proportion to the increase of concentration. When the toxicity of six kinds of raw materials of cloth-softners and Formalin were compared by the concentration by which the growth of Tetrahymena was hindered to 50% of normal growth, the order of toxicity of the chemical substances were found to be as follows.

  One cloth-softner on the market accelerated the growth of Tetrahymena by the addition of low concentration of the substance into the medium, but the other cloth-softner did not show any effect in the growth of Tetrahymena by low concentration. Both cloth-softners hindered the growth of Tetrahymena remarkably when they are added to the medium over 5,000 ppm.
