Recently, almost all junior high school and high school students wear a school uniform (schoolboy black with collar fastened with hooks and eyes) without fastening the collar. This gives an impression of untidiness to on-lookers. However, students appear to have some reasons that justify their impulse of unhooking the collar. A questionnaire survey was, therfore, undertaken in junior high school and high school students to investigate how they feel about their present school uniforms and what style of school uniforms they consider desirable, and to determine a more comfortable styling that helps for a healthy and pleasant school-life.

The results showed that school uniforms were worn unhooked at the collar by more than 66% of students and always hooked at the collar by less than 20%. The reasons for unhooking the collar were “the feeling of tightness and constriction around the neck” (67%) and “severe discomfort at the throat when the head is bent downward” (50%). The desired styles of school uniform consisted, in order of preference, of private clothes, school uniform and blazer coat.

In order to make a good living with confortable clothes, we must take care of the use of healthful underwear. Recently, however, it was found that some young women hardly understood the role of the underwear and made a mistake.

The purpose of this investigation is to analyze the problems with respect to the use of the underwear.

Various informations are obtained through a questionnaire. The main points of our conclusions are as follows. A rather great number of students use clothes which are not fit for the exercise in physical education, and they do not consider fully the functions of underwear. The same result is obtaind from the investigation on the actual conditions, that students wear their brassieres and girdles night and day. They take little interest in the informations about underwear, and have not sufficient knowledge of it. Many students choose their underwear through trial and error, and gain various experiences. But more than half of them can not understand confidantly the effect of their underwear on their health.

Some effects of the Spray―Ironing shrinking method on the cotton bathrobe cloths were discussed through wearing test. The results obtained are as follows :

    1) The strain occurs at the hip of the bathrobe while in its wearing is most notable, and above all the strain in the diagonal direction of cloths is more marked than the ones in the any other direction of cloths. The major cause of this is that as for the former the comparatively large forces work in both filling and warp direction of cloths constructed the bathrobe while in its wearing, for the restrictional wearing form of cloths at the hip, and as for the latter in general the cloths are easy to deform in the diagonal direction.

    2) The strain, the bow and the bias filling of the shrunk bathrobe cloths are more inconspicuous than the ones of the unshrunk bathrobe cloths. This causes that the softness and the stretch back characteristics were endowed the cloths with the shrinking treatment. And the differences of the strain, the bow and the bias filling between the shrunk cloths and the unshrunk ones become markedly with the passage of wearing.

The study carried out to investigate the temperature regulation system (TRS)-function of Korean women's folk clothes (KWFC), for which the physiological and psychological reactions of human body under various ambient temperature were measured.

The results of the present study are follows.

TRS-function of KWFC showed 6℃ declination toward low temperature when comparing with the function of naked state. According to the TRS-function, the human body temperature was regulated by oxygen-consumption at low temperature, blood-flow at medium temperature, and perspiration at high temperature.

The blood flow of finger and perspiration was occurred at higher 3℃ than men's TRS-function. The difference by kinds of summer and autumn clothes was showed in little influence for TRS-function of human body.

In the comfortable temperature wearing KWFC, summer clothes was 28℃, autumn clothes was 22℃. Baji (Korean women's folk pants) among various parts of KWFC was most contributed to the thermal insulation effect at low temperature.
