The authors introduce theoretical discussions about classification and organization of environmental values which can be attributed to characteristics of envuronmental goods and services, such as irreversibility, uniqueness, or uncertainty. First, the authors explain the structure of environmental values by using the idea of actual use value, option value, and existence value of environmentol goods and services Secondly, hedonic price method, travel cost method, and contingent value method as important evaluation methods for environmental goods are introduced. Finally, the authors make comparative consideration for suitability of those methods of evaluating environmental value, based on currnt empirical studies.
