Grey literature said to do difficult to obtain through commercial publishers. Recently, according to the spread of institutional repositories, grey literature is published on the Web and its full text is open to the public, then it has become easily accessible. Yet, the accessibility of grey literature has not been fully resolved. In this paper, the author introduces the definition of grey literature based on the discussion of the International Conference on Grey Literature (International Conference on Grey literature) and tries to reorganize and discuss on issues concerning the problems of grey literature accessibility. The author indicates that there are still many challenges in this field, also indicates that stable access to the sources on the Web is not always guaranteed. It is concluded that expertises and experiences of a librarian should be leveraged to get solutions regarding the accessibility of grey literature.

Many publications of fields about politics, law and administration are open disclosure. Also, they should be publicly accessible according to the source of money that creates such publications. Nevertheless, many publications of those fields seem to be hard to get. In this paper, first, the author attempts to classify such publications. Next, he considers the influence of the development of the Internet on accessibility of those. Finally, he considers more disclosure and archiving in the future. Except for classified, or made secreted to the people, governments have to publish all information, part of which consists of grey literature. Most citizens have felt difficult to access to scholarly information, as to doctoral theses. Valuable papers made by private organizations have been utilized secretly as grey literature. Because they have published as grey literature these materials made with paper, many people could not use them effectively. But, now such documents are digitized, and published online, so lots of people can access information as equivalent to old grey literature. The author considers legally grey literature changed into digitized online within Japanese law system.

Grey resources of music information have been hardly studied yet. Printed ephemera have similar characteristics to these of grey resources. Musical ephemera regarded important in musicological research, are explained based on Coover's paper on their types and controls. The author discussed sheet music and concert programs as printed musical ephemera, and sound recordings as ephemeral resources. She introduced the activities to standardize these resources by the Music Library Association in the United States, and the Working Group on Access to Performance Ephemera of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres.

The author reviews the present situation of kiyo or Japanese university research bulletin, focusing the difficulty of the definition, history, characteristics and quality of papers appears in kiyo. The reason why the kiyo has published continuously without being replaced by society or specialized journals is discussed from the viewpoints of the scholars in social science and humanities. The digitization of kiyo was described in connection with the development of institutional repositories and interlibrary loans among university libraries in Japan. The author also discusses the way to maintain the quality of papers appeared in kiyo and the way to manage the library collections where many libraries face the lack of storage space in Japanese university libraries.

According to economic development of emerging courtiers, importance of intellectual property in the countries is also rising. This article, focusing on Russia, introduces websites of Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents & Trademarks of Russia and Eurasian Patent Organization and their databases. While search functions of the databases are not so rich comparing to databases offered by Japan, United States and European Patent Office, however, the Russian and Eurasian databases contain useful information such as legal status data or text data of specifications in original language, which cannot be obtained from other databases. It is necessary to utilize the useful information with understanding of features of the databases.
