For timbers logistics, the optimum design of the materials handling-carrying system in harbor is very important. In this system, there are some indefinite factors, including judgment of operators of materials handling machine and so on. For such a system, it is difficult to promote the automatic operation and to analyze the dynamic behaviors of the system theoretically. The purpose of this research is to construct the optimum design method for principal performances of materials handling machines and the system. As the first step, in this report, a simulation analysis method has been developed to clarify the system behavior. The judgment of shipping agent and shovel loader operator is treated logically on the basis of neural network and fuzzy systems theory. And the speed of load hoisting, jib hoisting, swing, travelling and so on can be considered.
