    Concerning the Man-Robot-Machine-System, the author describes, on the standpoint of function, this paper about the relationship between the individual and systems, the human being and artificial creature and also the positioning of various phenomena of civilization using mathematic group theoretical pattern.

    Solidification process of metals is basically regarded as heat transfer process. However, as occurence of bubbles, segregations and non-metallic inclusions in ingot become sometimes to defects in quality, sufficient consideration about flow of fluid, mass-transfer and chemical reactions etc. which may affect seriously to these defects, is also necessary.
    In recent years, study of these mass-transfer and reaction is being made actively, but there still remain many problems to be solved. Meanwhile, there have been numerous studies that regard solidification process as simple heat trasfering process accompanied by phase change. This kind of analysis is effective enough for design and control of casting operation and this will certainly be useful as the basis of approach even if an analysis under consideration of chemical reaction and mass-transfer should be established in future. Hereunder the author outlines the comparatively simple but useful analytical method of ingot making and continuous casting operation of metals.

    Due to scale-up of every equipment of steel industry and severe customers' demands, we are unable to have the effective production control by our own judgement.
    Under such a situation, we, Japanese steelmakers are now making various efforts to develop applicable methods i.e software of computer in order to apply to the production control.
    We, Daido Steel, have also been making development of this field since 1962 and at present, have equipped 8 unit-computers at our works.
    Even though we will take more time and studies to what is called “integrated computer system”, we, report as under-mentioned sub-systems which we have accomplished and applied to actual operation and development schedule in near future.

    SCCS (Sequence Control Circuit Simulator) is a computer software for timeseries simulation of magnetic relay circuit and is used for checking whether the designed circuit will be applicable to requirements.
    It was not perfect to check the relay circuit by the manual sheet debugging, but by using SCCS the circuit has been checked quickly and perfectly.

    On operational performance with pusher type continuous heating furnace, there has been much discussions about how to minimize skid marks and temperature difference which can be a factor against the irregularity of strip in thickness during its rolling process and some ideas from these discussions has been put into the practical use. In tackling such problems of less skid marks, it is desirable to go further into the problem on the basis of numerical analysis by employing an existing computer. Then, this article presents a report from our attempted solution of the probelm, where the temperature distribution in the sections of skid marks by which the water cooled skid may form on the slab pursuing the various formings by means of the computer analysis.

    The Cr-Al-Fe type alloy for electric resisting material has been needed for electric resistor because of its long service life under relatively high temperature, oxidation resistance and also lower cost.
    Its cold workability, however, is poor since it contains much Al. Therefore, the authors investigated this problem through the experiment of impact properties.
    (1) It is possible to let the impact value under room temperature higher if we make Al about 3%, and C less than 0.07% at 15% chromium considering its specific resistance.
    (2) It is desirable to be cold-rolled with 40% reduction for annealing.
    (3) Anisotrophy of specific resistance for direction of rolling of its cold rolled alloy is slightly recognized.

    We have studied free-machining magnetic core stainless steel on the basis of our experience of free-machining core iron.
    We confirmed as follows:
    (1) In 13 Cr stainless steel with less than 0.03% carbon and adequate amount of silicon we can obtain the best magnetic property as coercive force (Hc) is about 1.5 (Oe).
    (2) Addition of lead can make machinability better and both magnetic properties and corrosion strength have not been damaged.

    Comparing mass with other chemical analysis or instrumental analysis, it has the characteristics that enables to analyze almost all elements at the same time and very sensitively.
    Hereunder we describe about the developing history of r.f. spark source mass spectrography of solids which is used usually for analysis of impurities in iron and steel and also describe about ionization method, optical principle of ion focusing system, ion detecting method by photoplate etc.
    We explain, showing examples, about quantitative method calculating element concentration from exposure ratio of the same intensity measuring density by micro photometer and the qualitative analyzing method of composition element from mass spectrum.
