Triboelectrification behaviors of polyester, polymethylmethacrylate, and polystyrene films were investigated in contact with standard carrier beads (P-02, P-01, N-02, and N-01 carrier beads) developed by the technical committee of toner-based material in the Imaging Society of Japan. For the charging of the polar polymer films (polyester and poly (methylmethacrylate) ), the charging ability of the carrier beads was in the order of (positive side) P-02>P-01>N-02>N-01 (negative side), being the same order as that determined by the technical committee in the charging between the standard carrier beads and model toners. In addition, it was demonstrated that a structural resemblance of the carrier coating materials to the polymer films was correlated with the reproducibility of the charging data, and that the hydrophilic/hydrophobic property of the coating materials was associated with the humidity dependence of the charging of the polymer films.

In two-component magnetic brush development, an origin of the conductivity of magnetic brush was examined. It was supposed that supply toners in the magnetic brush for development contributed to conductivity of developers, and the relation of the conductivity to the toner concentration was formulated. Also, carrier rotations caused by the speed difference of photoconductor and development roller was supposed, and the equation expressing the developed toner mass dependence on the speed ratio was obtained. Each result well explained the experiment data of preceding studies.

This is the second report of the theoretical analysis of the two-component development considering both the conductivity of the magnetic brush and the limitation of available toners. This report shows the analysis result of against-mode development. In the against-mode development, the result is not obtained in a explicit form, and the initial value should be calculated numerically. And the depletion on available toners occurs within development, so the analytical result of this case was obtained by supposing balance between amount of available toners and amount of developed toners. In Against-mode development, there was the condition that the toner that it could supply within development was wanting, and I gave the condition that quantity of supply and quantity of development matched with, and a solution was provided. The calculation examples corresponding to With-mode development were shown.

Recently, the environmental requirements for the imaging equipment, for example copier or printer, are increasing in the worldwide. And, the environmental requirements are expanding from European area to Asian area. The contents of the requirement are changing each several years and sifting the severe conduct.
The many countries had already established the governmental green procurement law for the environmental specifications of the imaging equipment. Through this, the popularization activity by the country government and the governmental agency is rising.
The country government takes the lead to buys the highly environmental performance products.
This report explains the trend of the energy saving requirements, the resource saving and the pollution control of chemical substance regarding the imaging equipment, especially copier, multifunctional device and printer.

The ratio of the energy consumption at a fuser is dominant in the electrophotographic system such as a laser printer or a copier, hence its reduction becomes urgent design matters. In particular the conventional fuser needed continuous warming because a warm-up time was long, consequently, energy consumption during the standby state held a large ratio. To meet the request, the energy-saving technology of the fuser pushed forward the Quick Start to realize the wait free process by means of reducing heat capacity of the fuser components. The tide of the energy saving began with a B & W printer at first, spread through the colour copying machine whose structure has been simplified by the evolution of the toner afterwards.
In this report, it is commented on the evolution of the energy saving fuser with the advance of the toner and the demands of the times while, at the same time, surveying its history.

Wood is a recyclable natural resource, and waste paper is also reusable, recyclable resource. In our country which has less natural resources, those are very important resources, so we have developed the recycling technologies. The higher technology of recycling low quality waste paper has developed in recent years, and the optimization of chemicals using for paper recycling process is to be more important factor. Our company has supplied deinking agent and various chemicals for paper recycling, and contributed to the development of paper recycling technologies.
In this report, we explain the basic knowledge of deinking agent and chemicals using for paper recycling, and describe about the special cases.

The aim of the environmental mark is the measure of the product environmental property and the appeal of the environmental property for the customer. There are three types of the environmental marks, such as Type-I, this needs third party certification, Type-II, this is only own declaration, Type-III, this is the environmental property. There are so many environmental marks in the world, the Blue Angel Mark is the Type-ILabel, EPEAT is using for the government purchase and the company environmental mark. The main purpose of the environmental mark is the growth of the environmental technology and the sustainability society. It is vey important matter for our activity.

The agreement to minimize the risk from chemical substances by 2020 was made in 2002 at the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Johannesburg which has enhanced many countries including EU undertake a re-evaluation of the hazard of existing chemical substances. Safety concerns are also increasing as applications of nanomaterials on new technologies are highly expected and many countries have launched studies on regulatory frameworks. Standards for Blue Angel Eco-Label on the emissions of VOC for office equipment with printing function have been revised with stricter criteria. It is very important for manufacturers and distributors to foresee and make proactive responses to the regulation on chemical substances.
