Since the compliance transfer function of the tool tip, which affects chatter stability, varies depending on the type of tool holder, it is important to select the optimum tool holder. In this study, we have developed a method for selecting the optimum holder based on the chatter stability by predicting the compliance of the tool tip when the tool holder and tool are combined. By applying this method to machining with a radius end mill, it was confirmed that the tool holder with the least chatter vibration can be selected from four types of tool holders.

In recent space projects, 3D printers have been gathering attentions because of their excellent resource- and space-saving characteristics, and still have several technical problems such as the instability in material supply in zero gravity. This research conducts the 3D printing process in high gravity to transform the technical problems in zero gravity into enormous merits. By evaluating the influence of the nozzle temperature, the outlet diameter of nozzle, and gravitational acceleration on the material supply in material extrusion, this study aims to enhance the fabrication resolution drastically in high gravity.

n order to maintenance the equipment, we developed a diagnosis system using a Bayesian net based on FMEA of the gas engine. However, since the probability setting of the Bayesian net, failure mode and symptom which are not in the FMEA occur, the problem is that the estimated accuracy is low to 56%. To solve this problem, we have developed an update process of maintenance knowledge to update the probability setting of the Bayesian net and FMEA. In the update process, the symptoms and failure mode found from the Maintenance history are added to the FMEA after reviewing to a maintenance expert, and the probability setting of the Bayesian net updated by learning the maintenance history. As a result, the accuracy was improved to 95%.

In order to support the planning of digital platform-enabled circular economy (CE) business, the authors have developed an architecture, which systematically defines components of such businesses. The authors have also proposed a methodology for developing the business scenarios using the architecture with consistency among the components. In order to validate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, business scenario in case of the introduction of the waste collection system based on IoT technology was designed in this study.

In the natural world, there are organisms such as birds and insects that can move in three-dimensional space with the main purpose of foraging behavior. The organisms decide their actions based on various information including visual images. The realization of a UAV that enables such actions solves problems that have never been achieved before.We propose a new approach for controlling the UAV flight using by only monocular camera. In this study, purpose of the UAV is flighting toward to objective place autonomously.
