On a ajouté de l'acide azotique aux matières biologiques, en proportions égales.
On a ensuité chauffe an bain-marie, jusqu'a. transparence.

The determination of iron, silieoa and sodium contained in aluniina, row material of alluminium refining, was studied with the aid of spectroscopic analysis. For the excitation of the sample, continuous arc on a graphite electrode was applied. The sample was diluted with graphite powder in order to make homogeneous.
As the internal standard, lithium was used for sodium, while cobalt for iron and silicon. To make the arc between electrodes stationary, the lower electrode was rotated mechanically, and a direct current arc of 10-15 A was put. By this method the wandering of the arc can also be avoided. The results match well with those of chemical analysis.

Recently the development of rapid analysis by physicochemical method is the most remarkable in the field of chemical analysis.
It is hoped for the quality control that the time required for analysis bceomes so short that all the samples can be analysed.
As the first step the apparatus for rapid analysis, especially the automatic recording type of spectroscope should be manufactured in our country.

A high voltage a. c. arc source unit of usual type was constructed in order to develop the spectrochemical methods of trace elements in iron and steel. This arc supply consists of a power transformer having a 220 volt primary and two 2200 volt secondaries, each capable of supplying 2.2 amperes. A switching system allows the secondaries to be hooked inseues or parallel, so that two voltage ranges are available; 2200 and 4400.
Seventy heater type coils wounded by 0.5 mm “Advance” wire are used as a ballast resistors in the secondaries and permit one to control the current from ampere to ampere at 4400 volt range and from to ampere at 2200 volt range.
The arc stand in locked into safety cage and the door of this cage act, as a switch preventing the current to flow into trasformer primary when this door is opening.
