As a continued work to the 1st report, various problems concerning quantitative analysis of iron and steel are discussed by using photographic method with multisource for which Littrow spectrograph and Quantometer of photoelectric method are employed. Subjected specimens are low alloy steels including carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, high speed steel and boron steel. Using photoelectric and photographic methods on the components of high content applied for small quantities of the specimens, line-pair, source condition, working curve etc. are studied and as certained that multisource can be used for photographic method.
Summary of the result is as follows:
    1. Among the applicable line-pairs for Quantometer, only Mo 2816.2A comes into question, which is affected by the presence of Mn and Al.
    2. Selection of standard sample is important. Influence of Cr cannot be neglected in the case of cast iron. In general, metallurgical history must be taken into consideration.
    3. Influence of heat treatment can be neglected except for spring steel.
    4. With high alloy steel of varying Fe content, calibration of internal standard line seems difficult owing to metallurgical history and other causes.

An experimental automatic photographing apparatus for medium-sized spectroscope QF-60 has been made. With this apparatus, the photographing may be made quickly and efficiently and the control of photographing intervals accurately.
The apparatus consists of four midget type timing relays and six micro switch relays, the former controlling the pre-discharge time and exposure time while the latter transmitting the sequence operation of the former and activating the shutter. A shutter of electro magnetic system has been devised.
Compared with the customary appliance, the photographing speed is nearly doubled and the operation time can be controlled with better accuracy.
