Procedures of spectrochemical determination of trace elements such as Ba, Cu, Fe, Ga, Li, Mn, Rb, , Sr and Ti contained in plagioclase feldspars are described.
The cathode layer excitation with d.c.arc of 180 volts is used. The standard mixtures correspond-ing to the anorthite contents of 0-100% are prepared by mixing silica, alumina, calcium carbonate and sodium carbonate and the effects of thus prepared matrices on the line intensities of above men-tioned trace elements are studied and corrections are made for these effects.
As the internal standard, palladium, indium and calcium are used.
The effects of matrix compositions were remarkable for Ba, Cu, Li, Mn, Rb, Sr and Ti, while they were negligible for Ga and Fe.
Relative deviations from sixfold replicate analyses were about 15% for Ba, Cu, Ga, Mn and Ti, 10 % for Fe and Rb, 5% for Li and 3% for Sr.
A Mannkopff type glass spectrograph is used for the determination of Ba, Li, Rb and Sr and a medium quartz spectrograph for other elements. The standard samples G-1 and W-1 are analyzed for Ba, Li, Rb and Sr.

A method of spectrochemical determination of minor and trace elements such as Al, Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Ti, and V in olivines is described.
The cathode layer excitation with d.c.arc of 180 volts is used.
The standard mixtures corresponding to the forsterite contents of 0-100% are prepared by mixing silica, magnesium oxide and ferric oxide and the effects of thus prepared matrices upon the intensity ratios of the analytical line pairs of above mentioned minor and trace elements are investigated and the corrections are made for those effects.
Palladium is used as the internal standard.
The effects of matrix compositions were remarkable for Cu, Aland V, while they were neglisible for Co and Mn, No effects were found for Ni in the forsterite content of 30-75%.
The accuracies of obtained values are±5% for Ni, ±10% for Cu and Ti, ±15% for Co and Mn, ±20% for Al and ±30% for V.

An ultraviolet absorption method is presented for the determination of ethyltoluene isomers. The accuracy of the detrmination of each component is about 2%.Tests for estimating the theoretical error and most suitable combination of analytical wave lengths are included in the method.

Changes of ploidy pattern of the rat liver during postnatal growth and the regeneration after partial hepatectomy are studied.During postnatal growth a rapid development of Tetraploid Class was noted in peripheral and intermediate zones of the hepatic lobules, but the concurrent decrease of binucleate cells (after 5 weeks postnatally) was small.
Ploidy pattern of the regenerating rat liver showed bimodal, transient increase of Higher Ploidy cells (containing more DNA per cell than Tetraploid cells) and the rate of increase was much higher in the two zones mentioned above. There was poor inverse relations between the shifts of mononucleate and binucleate cells.Polyploidization of the hepatic cells may signify the maturity and the activity of the tissue, and there may be some mechanisms of polyploid formation other than the fusion of binucleate cells.
