This paper proposes a method for structural analysis of curricula and instructional materials. We abstracted key concepts and modules by subdividing textbook content. A key concept is taught by a module or modules ; the modules have subordinate key concepts. That is to say, the modules are immediate prerequisites to the key concepts and the key concepts are also immediate prerequisites to the modules. We made a connectivity matrix showing the immediate prerequisite relationships between key concepts and modules. After performing Interpretive Structural Modeling operations on the matrix, a computer is used to draw a hierarchical relationship graph of the connecting key concepts and modules.
