From estimation of urinary glucuronide by modified Dische's carbazol method, following results were obtained:
    (1) When guronsan (D-glucuronolactone) administered in human body or rabbits, it was not utilized directly for conjugation. Because, free glucuronic acid in urine was increased immediately after administration and no conjugated form was excreted.
    (2) When menthol was administered to rabbits together with guronsan or glucose, the excreted conjugated glucuronide was found to be much more increasing in case glucose was added.
    (3) In experimental study, when sodium salicylate was added to normal group and patients with hepatic disease, there was no difference between them in the amount of conjugated glucuronide in urine, but in case of a few severe hepatic disease excretion level of conjugated glucuronide was much higher than in case of normal or non hepatic disease and considerable time was required to normal level.
    (4) In aminal experimental with rabbits similar results were obtained.

A quantitative method is proposed in order to estimate free glucuronic acid and conjugated glucuronide separately.
The principle of this method isthat free glucuronic acid is reduced to non-chromogenic substance, while conjugated glucuronide remained in tact at appropriate cohdition including the addition of asmall amount of sodium borohydride.
The procedure is as follows: 3mg of sodium borohydride is added and is kept for 15 minutes at 24°C; N/10 NaOH is added to another aliquot and heated for 10 minutes to destroy ester glucuronide;then, colorimetry is carried out by Dische's carbazol method for each specimen.
Four crystalline glucuronide sample were obtained from rabbits' urine: p-dimethylaminobenzoylglucuronide and p-aminobenzoyl glucuronide as ester conjugate, and borneol glucuronide and p-menthan3, 8-diolglucuronide as ether conjugate.
By using these substances, the above proposed method proved to be excellent to differenciate free and each conjugated form of glucuronic acids.

There are many unknown facts about the mechanism, by which fat appears in the hepatic cell, after reaching the liver.
In the experiments using rats and rabbits, the author observed histochemically the tranportation of fat into the liver, comparing both the hepatic and the Kupffer cells. The author believes from these experiments he resolved that some questionable points which had been unknown until recently have been clarified.
