Development of a Roller-on-Roller type test equipment is discussed. The purpose of the equipment is to clarify dominant factors of tooth wear of gears. Radii of a pair of specimen rollers coincide with instantaneous radii of curvatures of gears having specific tooth number, module and pressure angle. Those rollers are actively driven with designed angular velocities to regenerate the sliding velocity at the target condition, so that acquired result can be compared with estimated result of theoretical analysis.

In this study, we strive to synthesize different variants of the Epsilon kappa curves which is an extension of an interpolating spline called the κ-curve. κ-curves had been applied as the curvature tool of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and are exceedingly valued by all designers. In this research we synthesize Epsilon Kappa curves and show its features through the generation of the curve with OpenGL. Main purpose of the GUI is to visually represent the free and easy manipulation of the curve. After the creation of the GUI in OpenGL we will try to create various shapes to further understand the properties of the curve. By doing so we are able to prove the usage of the curve in CAD and 3D design software. We have used Glut functions to represent and create the curve in the GUI. Finally, we were able to verify that the generated curves are almost G 2-continuous everywhere and the curve overcomes the disadvantages of the κ-curve.

Glass lenses are manufactured by press molding in a temperature of around 600℃. It is a process technology that is difficult to quantify and digitize because it depends on know-how in mold design and molding conditions. The authors think that it is possible to visualize the glass forming process by measuring the COP (Center of Pressure) during glass forming. Therefore, we have developed a COP sensor that can be mounted on a multi-axis molding machine for glass lenses. As a result of confirming the initial performance by generating an artificial error during glass molding, it was possible to confirm the correlation between the installation position of the glass material and the temperature distribution of the heater block and the COP.

Metal-polymer hybrids are widely used because of the large demands of lightweight materials. The hybrid joint can be generated by the polymer infiltration into metal surface textures through injection molded direct joining (IMDJ). Generally, nanostructures are suitable for small metal parts. We aimed to study the effect of nanostructure size on the polymer infiltration and joining strength. Nano-porous structures with different sizes (diameter in 70, 400, 600 nm) and similar porosity of 40 % were fabricated on metal surface by anodizing and etching process. These metal pieces were utilized for IMDJ at injection speeds of 10, 100, 200 300 mm/s. The negative dependence of polymer infiltration on the injection speed was confirmed when the structure size is in 70 nm while the positive dependence when larger than 400 nm. However, the negative dependence of joining strength on the injection speed was confirmed in all nanostructures. It is considered that although polymer can infiltrate deeper into the large structure at high injection speed, the reduction of well infiltration area leads to the negative strength dependence on speed.
