Gas seepages in the vicinity of the Komoro City are found in the Quaternar pyroclastic sediments or intercalating lacustrine siltstone on the skirt of the Asama Volcano, of which basement is composed of oil-bearing Tertiary.
The natural gas may be derived from contamination between the inflammable Tertiary gas and carbon dioxide of volcanic origin in the most cases, otherwise between Quaternary methane gas and carbon dioxide of the same origin.
High potentiality of inflammable natural gas of this district may be hardly expected.
