The semi-microscopic stress state in the unidirectional fiber-reinforced composites subjected to the transverse normal loading, σ
ξ, is calculated by the method which has often been employed in the authors' investigations. A new problem to be considered is the case where the transverse shear load, τ
xy, applies. Because this is solved with Fourier sine series, the stress state under the σξ in an arbitrary direction in the transverse plane can be calculated. Some conclusions similar to the case of the longitudinal shear loading are obtained, e.g., geometrical parameters are more important factors than material parameters. Some different and more complicated trends of stress concentration factors under the σ
ξ are also described in detail. Typical one of these trends is that maximum values of stress concentration factors do not always occur at the fiber-matrix interface.
