Sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis (SEP) was diagnosed in one dog and three cats. Clinical signs included vomiting, anorexia, palpable abdominal mass and ascites containing large numbers of blood cells, macrophages, inflammatory cells and reactive mesothelial cells. Survey and contrast radiography and computed tomography revealed that the small intestine was tightly coiled and was in malposition. Exploratory laparotomy revealed that the abdominal mass was mainly consisted of the small intestine, omentum and retropertioneal fat. These organs formed a large mass coverd with thick layers of fibrous tissue. Adhesion of the small intestine and fibrous tissue over the retroperitoneum was abrupted. Although treatments including administration of diuretics, corticosteroids and antibiotics were performed, the survival time ranged from 3 to 57 days.

A 5-year-old Japanese domestic cat, wounded by an arrow from an archery gun was treated. The arrow entered from the medial canthus of the right eye and passed through the left scapular region. However, great vessel damage, penetration into the cranium and ocular rupture were not observed. Bleeding was minimun. The arrow could by slowly removed without post-removal bleeding. The wound was treated with local cleansing and sterilization along with systemic administration of antibiotics. Although the cat recovered, visual disturbances remained.

Immunosuppressive effects after inhalation anesthesia (halothane, isoflurane and sevoflurane) in dogs were investigated through the change in immunological activity of macrophages and peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) by chemiluminescence (CL) and lymphoblastogenesis, respectively.
In halothane group, the reduction of blastogenetic response of PBL was observed from the first to the second week after anesthesia. On the other hand, in isoflurane group, the reduction was observed immediately from the first to the second day after anesthesia. In sevoflurane group, the change of blastogenetic response of PBL was minimal. In all the anesthesia, the change of radical production of macrophage was minimal.
These results suggest that immunosuppressive effects in dogs after anesthesia differ depending of the anesthetic agent.

A 10-year-old male toy poodle dog with an appearance of feminization was presented to the hospital due to two mass lesions in the right third mammary gland and the right inguinal region. They were histopathologically diagnosed as mammary carcinoma and Sertoli cell tumor, respectively. It is suggested that the presence of Sertori cell tumor, resulting hormonal derangement, may contribute to the development of the mammary carcinoma in this case.
