We propose a very simple and cost-efficient approach to fabricate high-performance TENG based on paper and graphite pencil. On the other hands, we propose a novel device, which can utilize ambient vibration with wideband and low frequencies. As the power sources of wireless sensors, batteries are mainly utilized until now. These days, devices of energy harvesting become more focused. Energy harvesting is a methodology of scavenging power from ambient energy sources such as solar, thermal and vibration without the need for batteries. Due to high stiffness of piezo electric energy harvesters, resonant frequency of the piezo electric energy harvesters tends to be much higher than ambient vibrational frequency. To solve these problems, the proposed energy-harvesting device is to utilize a stochastic resonance.

This paper successfully presents a novel wireless probe, which consists of a micro accelerometer, temperature sensor and ring electrodes, for detecting estrus cycle of cow by in-situ measuring her posture, virginal temperature and resistance. Using the novel wireless probe, the estrus time of the cow had been successfully identified. Before the estrus, there are variations of both virginal temperature ( 60;0.4°C) and resistance ( 60;15%). In addition, the origins of noise signals in resistances, which are common and severe issues for similar bio-impedence measurement and low accuracy, had been successfully confirmed by using the novel probe. Therefore, in this work, a MEMS-based solution would be suggested for the estrus detection technology of high accuracy.

In order to expand the applications of CFRP in aircraft and/or automobile industries, high quality holes must be created on CFRP parts efficiently. However, it is difficult for conventional methods such as drilling and helical milling to meet the requirements, and hence a so-called tilt helical milling (THM) method has been proposed which is performed just by tilting the workpiece at a small angle in helical milling. This method combined advantages of both helical milling and drilling to achieve high-quality and delamination-free holes. As a step towards the development of this technology, the hole formation process in THM was analyzed. It was found that in THM, the bottom section of the hole was W-shape and a V-groove was created under the end face of the tool, which was conducive to exclude chips and keep cool. Compared to the conventional helical milling (CHM), the sectional areas of the removed materials in THM seemed smaller in both entry and exit sides of the hole, delamination at both entry and exit sides of the hole had been prevented, and significant reduction in cutting force had been achieved.

Boron-doped binderless polycrystalline diamond has been synthesized and its various properties were evaluated. The polycrystalline diamond possesses high hardness, high strength and high thermal resistance. The heavily boron-doped diamond shows quasi-metallic electrical conductivity, being able to be machined by an electro-discharge method and exhibiting no plasma generation in a gap of sliding contact with insulating materials. In addition, the oxidation resistance and tribological property were improved owing to the additive effect of boron. Therefore, this diamond has outstanding potential as a materials for high-performance and high-precision cutting tools, especially for applications regarding cutting tools for hard insulating materials.

Boron-doped nano poly crystalline diamond (B-NPD) shows high-conductivity, low coefficient of friction and thermal resistance. In order to elucidate the potential of B-NPD tools, cutting tests were conducted for some work materials under different conditions. B-NPD tools shows high potential on cutting the insulation materials without tribo-plasma. End-mill tools prepared from B-NPD using electro discharge method were examined in high precision cutting on cemented carbide mold.
