This report is based upon the E. C. G. studies on 60 murine typhus patients, who entered in this hospital since the end of 1947. Of these, tracings were taken frequently to record successive changes, especially in 43 patients. According to my observation, low amplitude of T waves (less than 0.2mV) 37 percent, low voltage 10 percent, were the most conspicuous findings which may well indicate the presence of myocardial damage. These alterations were usually more striking in fever period. PQ interval showed no significant deviation, but QT time, when caluculated by Hegglin & Holzmann's formula, showed the tendency of prolongation even in the begining of defervescence period, and this prolongation lasted usually for sometime after the recovery. The recovery of E. C. G. changes of the patients who administered PABA. Aureomycin, chloromycetin and terramycin were fairly conspicuous, but less dramatic when compaired with the recovery of other clinical symptoms.
