To understand user viewpoints deeply and plan a solution, we have developed a organizational refactoring methodology, AIm (Appreciative & Imaginative) methodology, to survey and visualize the user's work environment, actual work practice, problem consciousness, core values, and mid/long-term objectives from individual field users' viewpoints and to design the business concept from the bottom-up. This methodlogy uses a strategic framework and original interview worksheets based on a theory of time perspective and human consciousness and they are effective for understanding workplace culture and tacit vision story.

On this report, I argue the two directions of SCM (Supply Chain Management) drawn from the changes of them in Japan. They are cost-cutting SCM that aims cost-cutting in the entire supply chain to improve the cash flow following turn-over of inventories and to reduce the stock, and value-creating SCM that supports the creation of new demand and invisible values to discover the new strategy. Then I consider especially about value-creating SCM from the view-point of knowledge management, its possibility and the challenge to create the strategy.

We propose a schedule-based simulation model (SSM) as a new concept of production planning and control. SSM uses a technique called advanced planning system (APS) and the simulation technique to generate a feasible schedule in the environment of make-to-order, assembly-to-order, and make-to-stock. The schedule of SSM is practical and can be optimized and simulated. A schedule is composed of a set of tasks and demand-supply associations among the tasks. If a change occurs while processing some tasks, the schedule might not be feasible. Rescheduling is triggered to remedy the change. SSM can also be applied to investigate the impact of delay, shortage, demand change, and machine breakdown on a production system. A sample schedule of SSM is provided to enhance the understandability of SSM.

This study explores how the structure of corporate ownership affects its financial information, especially earnings' quality and long-term performance. Focusing on the top ten majority-owned equity sponsors, I classify firms depending on numbers and ratios of founding-family equity sponsors. Firms' financial data and non-financial data are compared and verified. The findings indicate that bigger numbers and higher ratios of founding-family equity sponsors, more profitable and more valuable. It suggests that the organization form which separates ownership from control is not always efficient and superior in corporate governance.

In this paper we analyze a price and quality competition where two firms consider what strategies firms should do in order to expand market share more and to increase their profits. We actually attach great importance not only to a price but also to the quality when we purchase something that we want. The differences of these qualities included in each product characterize those products. However rising all quality level of a product in order to be purchased by many people results in that the price rises too. Therefore firms should understand which quality meets the consumer's needs in detail, and can develop a specialized product for them, which avoids rising of the price. In this research we obtain that it is more efficient to create a quality which the rival does not have.

Return rate for book remains at high level of 40%. This is not only for publishers' loss but also an issue of effective utilization of limited resources for society how to reduce the return rate. This research proposed a novel method to analyze book sales prediction using blog information. The method contains processes of 1) correlating sales data of several best sellers and related blog entries, and 2) finding the quantitative symptoms to be best sellers. Preliminary experiments have suggested that 1) there are strong correlations among sales data and blog entries with 4-6 weeks and 2) the number of blog entries is becoming a new measure for book sales promotions. This research introduces a possibility of new demand forecasting model of book sales by using number of blog entry.

It is often claimed that pay-for-performance, or SEIKASHUGI, a wage system many companies introduced since a decade ago, has led to "individualism" and "short-term thinking". However, we believe the problem is not due to SEIKASHUGI itself but to the fact that employees have not taken care of coaching subordinates under it any more.
This paper proposes a new wage system aimed at fostering human resources with assessment of coaching and training ability of employees, and then formulates and analyzes it by constructing three level agency model consisting of a manager, an employee engaged in coaching, and an employee engaged only in routine practice.

There has been an increasing trend in the scientific studies of services. Though the literature emphasizes that service design should be the co-creation between the customer and the provider, the concrete models mainly prescribe the providers and little attention has been paid on the customers' autonomous involvement.
We model the decision making of a customer on giving advices to a service provider to improve the service quality. We then simulate the repeated interaction between the provider and the customer, and observe how different service businesses may differ in the treatment of customer voices.

Companies depend on various kinds of capitals to remain afloat in competition. Today more than ever, attention is being paid to human capital. Firms attempt to realize full potential of their human capital considering employee satisfaction and motivation. Some studies, however, argue that satisfaction does not necessarily enhance firm's values, supporting instead that firm focuses on employee engagement. This paper explores the relatively contemporary concept in Human Capital Management, usually referred to as employee engagement through studies of related literatures. The purpose of this paper is to discover the drivers behind employee engagement and ultimately the merits that employee engagement offers to firms above and beyond its counterparts.

For SOA oriented BPM designing, we have to design both system process flow and human process flow. But in SOA approach, because it is based on BPEL, it's very difficult to design human process flow. Some BPM suits support both flows, but if we choose it, we will be locked in. So we designed BPM+SOA design method under OSS circumstances and validated it usefulness through the case study.

We already have various methodologies for system development and project management. However, we don't have effective and standard methodology on stable operations of system, network and other IT infrastructure. At this stage, we analyze various situations of such operations and its factors in order to establish methodology of operational design and to create typical templates of such various operations.

The gap with the first execution of the demand definition and the project development is clarified by using the concept of the knowledge system of BABOK(Business Analysis Body Of Knowledge), and it proposes the technique for deciding the correction point in the development process. The requirements analysis technique and BABOK were combined as a process of the model construction, the demand was drawn out, the standard of the project was made, and the demand was expressed, and the standard of the project and the quantified demand were compared after the demand had been measured by using the concept of the schema of the data base in the text mining, and the gap of the demand was calculated.

Multi-Agent Simulation is widely used in recent years to analyze the macroscopic behavior of social systems or financial systems. This study presents a multi-agent model of fund circulation in an artificial economic system which is composed of producers, consumers and a bank and involves self-adjusting mechanism of price, production and investment, in order to construct an artificial economic system with realistic behavior. As a result, it was revealed that characteristic behaviors of a real economic system such as equilibrium of market price, fund circulation among agents and business cycle etc. can be obtained as a result of the simulation based on the microscopic rules of acts of each agent and the interaction among them.

Service innovation means that a new service provides a new value to a society through tearing down a standard. Therefore, a framework for service innovation analysis is required two capabilities: description of business context and analysis of system integrity. In this research, we provide a framework "SSM-IA" for analyzing service innovation. And the capabilities are demonstrated through analyzing two case studies of e-Marketplace (eMP). One eMP is for food distribution and the other is for information distribution among small to medium manufacturers. Both of them have been well established in the societies. SSM-IA allows us to explain the new value which have been provided by each eMP, and visualize the service architecture of current service.

The validity of curve out is pointed out for the purpose of activation of industry. Curve out is effective in order to change into profits the technology in which it was buried, and a person's in charge motivation also goes up it. However, the situation of "being also the president of a separate company though it is an employee" is born by curve out. This research arranges the problem which may be produced in the situation of such curve out, and examining whether what we do with the influence of those problems for making it the minimum makes it the purpose. It discusses about the responsibility of the top of an organization produced when an undertaking is promoted with curve out, and an employee's duty. This is applied also to the problem produced in the university venture.

This research proposes a design guideline for services that require personal information disclosure to use. Recently, with the high needs from both users and providers, personal information required services are collecting more attentions. The progress in ubiquitous computing technologies also accelerates this trend. However, how service providers design these services that are accepted by users has not been discussed yet. This research takes into account the importance of user perception in service acceptance and proposes a conceptual framework for a service design guideline.
