An Average minimum B field of a toroidal configuration for plasma confinement can be produced by immersing current carrying ring conductors in a toroidal magnetic field. The rings encircle the minor axis of the torus. Owing to the toroidal effect, positions of null-field lines, soparatrix and the magnetic axis all shift from their original positions in case of the linear
Configuration. These deviations are examined with a digital computer as a function of the ring current over the wide range of the geometrical parameters such as the aspect ratio (6-64) and number of the rings (4-64). The fine structure of the field configuration much depends on these parameters. Average magnetic well are certainly formed around the separatrix and also local magnetic shear appears due to the toroidal effect. Equipotential, surfaces defined by_??_dl/B= const. close themselves, except those far from the minor axis of the torus. The critical surface where δ_??_dl/B=0 exists in the bad region of the torus and it does not coincide with the equiDotential surface.
