In the earlier paper we showed that phenomena observed in a planar diode tube are explained by the electrohydrodynamics. In this note we shall discuss a steady flow of electron gas in a spherical dioae or a purely radial expansion or compression of electron gas. Situation is analogous to the expansion or compression of conventional fluid through the Laval nozzle and is complicated by the many. branches of the solution.
When space charges are neglected then the expansion of electron as is identical to the expansion of plasma in the solar gravitationla field as discussed by E. Parker and we get exact analytical solution. However, when the space charges are not negligibly small, we have no longer any simple solution and hence we shall give the numerical solution by a computor.

To study the transient response of the fast ionization gauge, the floresconce stimulated by a 23-KV electron beam is usedas a standard gauge for the measurement of time varing density in rarefied gas flow from a fast acting valve.
It is found that output siguels from the usual 6AH6 fast ionization gauge deviate largely from the electroil beam fluorescence signals.
The deviation may originate from the fact that the head of the fast ionization gauge disturbs the gas flow.
The fast ionization gauge is modified so that the gas can easily flow through the gauge head.
As a result, it is shown that output signals from the modified gauge agree-satisfactorily with the electron beam fluorocence signals.

The preionization by Z-pinch discharge is applied to a low energy slow the ta-pinch for tne purpose of producing a plasma at a low gas pressure and without trapping field. A pulsed current of a few tens of kA with a width of about 10μsec is produced by condenser discharge using a non-lincar register. The characteristics of Z-pinched plasma are measured with optical methods using a laser as a light source. With a peak current of 15 kA, the degree of ioization of about 60% is obtained in the low pressure region, which is found to be suitable for the following theta-compression. The temperature of the theta-pinchud plasma with this preionization is consistient with that derived from a simple snow-plow model. Flute instabilities of m=3 occurs at the pressure higher than 80 mtorr even in the case of no bias field.
