We here shall discuss the plasma source of density of about 10
13/c.c and of temperature of about 100 eV. This source is of interest per se as an experimental device to study properties such as radiation, diffusion across magnetic field and so on. Further more this device can be considered as an intermediate step to achieve the thermonuclear machine in future and may be adapted to develop an ionic propulsion system for the space travel. Our plasma physics group directed by David J. Rose, Professor of M.I.T. has produced a plasma of density of about 5 x 10
13/c.c. with thermal energy of about 10 eV with a modified PIG discharge in a volume of 10
3 cm
3. The present proposal is to improve the system so as to get a higher energy plasma.
