Tourism of Forest and Mountain village concerning its’ interest and evaluation were discussed at the Tourism Bracken Park, in Oguni Town, Yamagata pref, through questionnaires to customers in 1986 and 1995.
Ages of the customers were mainly 40 to 50, and reasons for the visit were to eat bracken with family or to pick up bracken and to feel nature. Entrance fee of the park was about 2,000 yen per head, and attracted around 14,000 custumers. The total income from the entrance fee, 28 million yen, was not so a large amount but it could not be neglected in a mountain village life. Tourism Bracken Parks was ruled on one of tourism resources through exchanges between successors of the village and urban residents from inside and outside the prefecture.
For the future concerned, promotion of the community might be applied by development of the food culture of mountain village through natural lodge facilities mainly by the Tourism Bracken Parks.
