Relationship between daily heat stroke mortality and temperature based on daily data

The relationship between daily heat mortality and temperature was studied using the Vital Statistics data from 1999 to 2014. For each prefecture, average heat mortality in each bin of daily maximum temperature with a width of 1 deg was obtained, and the threshold temperature (T*) at which heat mortality exceeds a certain value was defined. It was found that T* was in positive correlation with summer mean temperature, indicating that heat stroke deaths occurs at a lower temperature in a region of cooler summer climate. It was also found that T* was lower on days of higher relative humidity.

In Xinmo Village, Maowen, Sichuan Province large landslide occurred on 24 Jun 2017. On the collapsed slope InSAR images were produced using ALOS/PALSAR data and ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 data. Then, they were interpreted to detect precursor of landslide surface deformation. Four periods of InSAR images were produced observed from Jul 2007 to Dec 2016; however, such the deformation was not interpreted until six months before the landslide occurrence.
