    Relations between the pore constitution and the mechanical properties of sintered copper compacts, especially the changes in the elastic modulus and yield strength are investigated, and then the contact electrical resistance of the porous body against the other metal surface is measured.
    How the pore constitution is related to the change of the real contact area with the increase of contact pressure is studied.
    It is well known that the elastic modulus and yield strength increase with the density, and change considerably with the grain size, form and blending constitution for equal density.
    The elastic modulus of the product made from electrolytic powder is smaller as the par-ticle size of powder decreases, and the increase of blending percentage of spherical powder induces the decrease of elastic modulus. The surface contact is easily improved with smaller elastic modulus of porous product.

    A recorded tape has a tendency to transfer or print its magnetic pattern on adjacent layers when it is stored on a reel. This phenomenon is called the accidental printing effect, and a theoretical investigation has been made in 1953 by W.K. Westmijze, and further experimental work has not been reported.
    In this article, the analysis of the accidental printing was made by establishing the following characteristics; the volume of magnetic particles, the coercive force of magnetic powder γ-Fe2O3 in which a small amount of cobalt is substituted, and the effect of temperature. Following results were obtained.
    (1) The influence of particle size on printing effect was investigated. Sixteen samples of cubical Co-substituted γ-Fe2O3 were used to prepare the magnetic tapes. The increase of particle size from 0.046μ to 0.10μ in mean diameter resulted in the increase of printing effect.
    (2) The influence of Hc of γ-Fe2O3 on printing effect was studied. The increase in the coercive force of about 10 Oe resulted in the increase in the printing effect by 0.6dB.
    (3) The effect of temperature on the accidental printing was studied. It was indicated over the range of 10°C-65°C that the printing effect was reduced as the temperature was raised.

    Ni 80-Cr20 mixed powders were heated and sintered in mica lined copper dies by passing a low voltage high amperage current for a short time. The amperage built-up, compact density increase and structure change during the sintering process were studied. The results of experiments are as follows.
    (1)Mica lining can be used for the resistance sintering under pressure.
    (2)The built up time depends on the voltage, pressure and height of powder in dies.
    (3)The apparent density of sintered compacts increases with the product of ampere and cycle.
    (4)The area of sample has a large influence on the apparent density of sintered compacts.
    (5)When the pressure applied during resistance sintering is not sufficiently high, the apparent density of compacts decreases in the later period of sintering.
    (6)The progresses of sintering and diffusion depend on such factors as the sample weight, preliminary compacting pressure, pressure during sintering, sintering time and preliminary sintering.
