    In the first report, characteristics of sintering on Ni-P alloy coated tungsten powders were described. In the present study, authors examined sintering behaviors of Ni-P-W composite powders and the properties of compacts.
    The results were as follows;
    (1) By the chemical mixing, we obtained better compacts as compared with the mechanical mixing. However, it is expected that by improving the powder size and mixing condition the compacts of full density can be obtained even by the mechanical mixing.
    (2) The activation energy of densification of Ni-P alloy coated tungsten powder specimens was 41, 000cal/mol.
    (3) The transverse rupture strength of Ni-P alloy coated tungsten powder specimens were inferior to those of nickel coated tungsten powder specimens.
    (4) Tungsten pipes and blocks with tungsten contents of more than 99.5% were obtained in this way, and sintered densities of the compacts were more than 19g/cm3.

    Sendust Fe-Si-Al ternary alloys have high saturation flux density, low coercive force and high resistivity. Moreover, they are strong against wear, so efforts have been devoted to make use of these alloys as the video-tape-recorder head materials. These alloys are too hard and brittle to be made into thin sheets by rolling and punching. We tried to make Sendust sheets by powder rolling process. Two kinds of powders, atomized or mechanically crushed, were used. Si and Al contents in the former are approximately twice as those in Sendust standard composition, and we added pure iron powders in order to prepare Sendust alloys sheets by powder rolling process more easily.
    We excuted many experiments to get the optimum condition of powder rolling and sintering. Electrical and mechanical properties of typical samples are given as follows ;
    μ m=5600; BH c=0.45 Oersted; B r=5600 Gauss; B 10=9700 Gauss; ρ=100 μΩ-cm; Hv=443.

    The thermoelectric properties of Bi-Te binary and Bi2Te3-Sb 2Te3, Bi2Te3-Bi2Se3 ternary alloys with some additional elements, prepared by powder metallurgy has been studied. The effects of particle size, compacting pressure, sintering condition, and an anisotropy of the thermoelectric elements was experimented. The results show that the specimens prepared by powder metallurgy has the figure of merit Z values almost equal to those of specimen of same composition prepared by melting method. The sintered thermoelement has higher ρ value than the melted element, and is therefore suitable for the objects used by low optimum current.

    The reaction between BaCO3 and GeO2 has been studied in air and in CO2 at 800-1000°C. Several products (Ba2GeO 4, BaGeO 3 and BaGe4O9) were obtained when the mixtures of BaCO3 and GeO2 were heated in air, but under the CO2 atmosphere of 393-763mmHg, Ba2GeO 4 was prepared with very small amounts of BaGeO3 and BaGe4O9 so far as BaCO3 was remaining in the samples.
    The kinetics of the following reaction were studied under the CO2 atmosphere of 763 mmHg.
    2BaCO3+GeO2=Ba2GeO4+2CO2
    The kinetic data can be expressed reasonably by the zero-order equation. There is a discontinuity in the plotting of log k against 1/T at about 830°C or 840°C for the reaction of BaCO3 with hexagonal GeO2, or with tetragonal GeO2, respectively. The values of activation energy are about 37 or 16 kcal/mol above or below 830°C, respectively, for the reaction of BaCO3 with hexagonal GeO2, and 65 or 22 kcal/mol above or below 840°C, respectively, for the reaction with tetragonal GeO2. The kinetic data are discussed in comparison with the kinetic dada for the reaction between BaCO3 and TiO2 under the atmosphere of CO2.
