Carbon tissues were exposed in the dichromate solutions adjusted to desired pH values on the range 2.1 to 7.0. Sensitivity decreased with increasing pH value. In strong acidic pH range the sensitivity increased with the increasing ratio of higher molecular weight component (fH) than γ, while in neutral pH range it was independent of fH. With acid-processed pigskin gelatins higher sensitivities were obtained in any case than with lime-processed cattle-bone gelatins.

Triboluminescence of silver iodobromide (AgBrI) microcrystals was observed at 530nm when insulating vessels and rods were used for the mechanical abrasion of the microcrystals at liquid nitrogen temperature, but was not observed when electroconductive vessels and rods were used. The triboluminescence of the microcrystals was ascribed to be the recombination between electronsand positive holes which were produced by static electricityformed on the surface of the microcrystals during the abrasion.

A new method is introduced to estimate spectral reflectance of skin color used HDTV camera. The output levels RGB from HDTV camera is transformed to tristimulus values XYZ by using polynomial equation. The coefficients of a transformation matrix were determined to minimize the summation of difference between measured and calculated XYZ for 39 kinds of skin color charts by using the least square method.
Principal component analysis for spectral reflectance of 108 facial skin was done, and the result showed that the spectral reflectance of skin color can be calculated by using the only three components, namely tristimulus values XYZ. In this paper, the processing method mentioned above and the experimental results are described.

Gelatin tissues were exposed in the dichromate solutions adjusted to desired pH values in the range of 2.1 to 7.0. From the exposure dependence of the molecular weight distribution of the washed-off gelatin and its pH dependence, was elucidated that in strong acid region the higher molecular weight components have the higher sensitivity, while neutral region the sensitivity is independent of the molecular weight.

Aromatic heterocyclic compounds are known as useful organic materials possessing principle molecular structures for important function of record and display of information.
In this study, novel and convenient methods for synthesis of some benzoheterocyclic compounds from easily available 2-substituted nitrobenzenes were successfully developed through electroreduction, zinc-promoted reduction, reductive carbonylation, and acid-catalyzed intermolecular cyclization.
Thus, useful aromatic heterocyclic compounds, including oxyindoles, 1, 4-benzodiazepinones, 3, 1-dihydrooxazinones, and pridone carboxylic acid derivatives, were efficiently prepared from easily available 2-chloronitrobenzenes and 2-nitrobenzoic acids through electroreduction and zinc-promoted reducton. Furthermore, facile one-pot synthesis of benzazolones, such as benzimidazolones, benzoxazolones and benzthiazolones, and hydroxycoumarines was originally developed by sufur-assisted reductive carbonylation of 2-substituted nitrobenzenes and 2-hydroxylacetophenone, respectively. Finally, acid-catalyzed reaction of propargylic and allylic alcohols with ringsubstituted thiophenols led to selective intermolecular cycloaddition to give readily tetrahydrobenzothiepines and thiochromanes, respectively.
