Biometrics is to identify a person using his/her biological or behavioral characteristics. Biometrics has attracted extensive attention as a new authentication approach against traditional ones such as key, password, etc. This paper presents recent advances in biometrics from presentations in the international conferences from 2013 to 2018.
National printing Bureau has been producing printed products such as Japanese Banknote and Passport. And they are often targeted for counterfeit because of their high public value. In recent years, with the diversification of value, the added value of products has increased and various products have been forged.
Focusing on the printed product field, products with no anti-counterfeit technology are forged because of the high advancement of digital printers. We will discuss about anti-piracy measures by Security Image Variable.
This paper describes an image encryption technique based on scrambling processes for each block. An encrypted image has generally more high-frequency components compared to the original image, and thus its compression efficien cy is lower than that of the original image. The block-permutation-based encryption scheme considers the compression efficiency of the encrypted image and can maintain the compression efficiency before and after the encryption process. Besides, this encryption scheme is robust resilience against brute-force attacks and ciphertext-only attacks. We give an overview of this encryption technique with a focus on our research.
