1) The Hb-Hp “subunit” and the Hb-Hp complex were purified from human blood of the Hp 1-1 type by ammonium sulfate fractionation, gel filtration on a Sephadex G-100 column, and chromatography on a DEAE-sephadex column. Each purified sample was homogeneous in the ultracentrifuge. Disc electrophoresis, however, revealed the presence of a minor contaminant less than 3% of the total protein.
2) From the data obtained on disc electrophoresis, it was suggested that a reversible change from the Hb-Hp complex to the Hb-Hp “subunit” does not occur at least in vitro.
3) On the basis of the several evidences obtained, it was concluded that the Hb-Hp “subunit II” is identical with the Hb-Hp complex.

Three strains of anaerobic Actinomyces (the Pasteur, the Minowa, and the Enomoto strains) were studied for their ABO blood group activity. The result obtained were as follows:
1. The Forssman antigen was found in the Pasteur strain.
2. The blood group A antigen with a structure similar to that of the human A cells was found in the Enomoto and the Minowa strains.
3. The X-antigen was found in the Pasteur strain.
4. The carbohydrate-like fractions of each strain appeared to be carriers of the A and the Forssman antigens.

Using a single segment of rabbit saphenous vein preparation in vitro a perfusion experiment with Locke-Ringer's solution (pH 7.2, 37°C) has been performed. The venoconstrictive effect of bradykinin, which was injected into the perfusate, was recorded as the decrease of the outflow from the preparation and recorded by dorp counter. A consistent and dose dependent venoconstriction was induced by bradykinin and there was no tachyphylaxis.
The conjugated estrogens from the urine of pregnant hourses (Premarin) exhibited a potent antibradykinin activity on the venoconstrictive effect of bradykinin and the potency of bradykinin, the control being 1.0, was reduced by combination of Premarin at concentration of 50μg per ml and 100μg per ml to 0.651 and 0.431 respectively. The washability of Premarin is good. The dose response curves of bradykinin obtained under the perfusion with Locke-Ringer's solution and those obtained under the perfusion of Premarin solution were practically parallel, being the slope 75.8° and the index of precision 0.228.
