In this study, we applied painting technology to the preparation of color product-model made from Powder Bed Fusion (PBF). Painting procedures such as pretreatment, under coating, intermediate coat and top coat were optimized for the better appearance of color model. We also studied on dying process for the PBF model. The usage of dye and auxiliary agent and dying procedure were optimized for PBF model. Especially, difference in dying quality of the inside and outside of PBF model decreased with using disperse-dye and ethanol as a dye and an auxiliary agent, respectively.

A robot hand is needed for many fields, which is capable of gripping various objects without slipping as human do. Slip detection sensor is necessary for controlling robot hand without slipping, and it need to be very small to be attached to robot fingers. In this paper, We have developed an extremely-compact laser Doppler velocimeter (Micro Slip Velocimeter: MSV) as a slip detector which is capable of measuring slip velocity. We have measured object velocity at 10 μm/s to 20000 μm/s with 3types of object material: Aluminium, plastic and cardboard. The output of this sensor is independent of the measuring material. MSV has great advantages for controlling robot hand to grip objects without slipping in various material.

Because many students firstly see instruments and tools and do not know how to use them, visual aids are very helpful for the tutorials. This report introduces a case study of teaching aids for preparation of ″Displacement, Velocity and Acceleration″ in Basic Engineering Laboratory 1 at Toyota Technological Institute. Video shows a sequence of experiments and operations. Web materials introduce basic knowledge by multiple-choice quiz, and practice the students in reading a caliper scale and voltmeter. Although the use of them was a time-consuming practice, the students understood more deeply. Some students excessively depended on the visual aids.

Low-temperatureamorphous silicon (a-Si) and microcrystalline silicon (c-Si) are promising materials for use in large-area electronic devices. In this study, we have been developing a low-temperature and high-rate Si deposition technology using very high-frequency (VHF) plasma excited under atmospheric pressure (AP). In this presentation, we discuss the influences of plasma parameters, such as input VHF power density, H2/SiH4ratio and gas residence time in the plasma, on the crystallinity and property of the deposited Sifilms. In addition, the characteristics of bottom-gate thin film transistors (TFTs), the channel layers of which were prepared using AP-VHF plasma, will be presented.

The purpose of this study is to synthesize the diamond to various substrates using an in-liquid plasma chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. We chose the copper and diamond substrate to form a film. Diamond films were evaluated using a Raman spectroscopy and a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), respectively. As a result, it was possible to synthesize a polycrystalline diamond thin film on copper substrate. However, film delamination has occurred after the experiment by internal stress. The film delamination is caused by the thermal stress due to the different linear expansion coefficient between the Cu substrate and the diamond film. In epitaxial growth on the diamond single crystal substrate, the best orientation for epitaxial growth is found to be (100). Diamond film grown on diamond (100) substrate was smooth in surface roughness. It is also found that diamond polycrystalline film with irregularity is synthesized when the film is synthesized on diamond (111) substrate. The deposition rate is about 32 micrometers per hour when both single-crystal and polycrystalline diamond films are synthesized.
