It has been proved by the author that the copper furnace slag, air-cooled and crushed into proper sizes, has characteristic features far superior to natural rocks for utilizing as a mineral aggregate of the paving mixture, and that if combined with the most suited bituminous binder, it can be substantially made up into such excellent paving blocks that none of those kinds can surpass.
This has been verified by many tests in the laboratory as well as in the actual service conditions during the last seven years.
