    In the 1st report, we mentioned the relation between the change of chemical composition and some physical, floatable properties, as an outline of the properties of pyrrhotite.
    In this report entitled “Relation between the magnetic properties and the mineral deposits [1]”, we describe the results of relation between the chemical composition and magnetic susceptibility, the magnetism and the associated minerals and of measurements carried out at the Ashio Mine (Tochigi Prefecture) and the Chichibu Mine (Saitama Prefecture) in connection with the magnetic distributions.
    The main results obtained are as follows;
    (1) The results of measurement about the relation between the chemical composition and the magnetic susceptibility of natural pyrrhotite by powder method, have a tendency to coincide with the results of Jnza and Biltz who investigated the artificial pyrrhotite.
    (2) But, the results which showed the strongest magnetism is 53. 66 atomic percent sulphur, and this mo re coincident with Ilaraldsen's results.
    (3) in most cases, the strength of magnetism is related to the associated minerals.
    (4) The magnetism is differed partly in some small pieces, but the most of them do not show much difference in magnetism.
    (5) Generally, pyrrhotites at the Ashio deposit have a tendency of strong magnetism and those at Ghichibu deposit have weak one.
    (6) And, each are body has a tendency to show the special range of magnetic susceptibility.
    (7) At both deposits, the variation of magnetism with the difference of level height is comparativelydistinct.
    (8) Above M tiond (3) to (7) showing the magnetism of pyrrhotite are relative to the temperatures of their crystallization.
    (9) And we believe also that the variation of chemical composition can be said to be under the same circumstances as the magnetism described in (3) to (8).

    Problem of Bit in rock drilling is one of the first thamers which are taken by us who know the quality of drilling have important influence on development of this mine, with patience, courage and eagerness after the war.
    This paper is a report of practical test to find the most suitable bit to operate our mining plan smoothly, as a part of rationalization of mining engineering.

    The stress in the rocks around underground openings and also the failure of the rocks can be investigated by model tests, although in other ways the research is much difficult.
    We discussed the conditions to be satisfied, in the tests, and obtained eq, (12), which gives conditions interrelating several quantities concerning both the prototype and the model, such as model ratio, force ratio μ, density ratio k, and the number of revolution of the centrifuge used. A brief description about the apparatus designed by us was siso given, followed by a experiment intending to show the reliability of the test.

    relation between the coagulation of colloid particles and their floatability.
    In order to observe the phenomena distinctly, As2S3 and Sb2S3 sol were made chemically, have been used in the experiments. Electrolyts (NaCI, CaCl2, CuSO4, Al2(SO4)3, AgNO3, (NO3), Co (NO3)2) have been added as coagulator and then the floatability of the particles of As2S3 has been determined.
    The results are as follows:
    (1) The floatability of colloid particles of As2S3 and Sb2S3 (stable as sol) is extremly low.
    (2) When coagulation is stimulated by adding the electrolyts on colloid particles, their floatability rise nearly the highest at the coagulation value, that is, the floatability of As2S3 and Sb2S3 colloid particles has very close relation with coagulation.
    (3) With the concentration of the electrolyts used, . no close relation between the surface tension and the floatability has been recognized.

    Ferrous sulphide prepared artifically was roasted at the temperature from 400°C to 600°C and its reactions were studied. The results are as follows.
    i) The oxidation of ferrous sulphide by roasting began at about 400·C.
    ii) The weight of the sample increased from about 400°C, and the wasting products were not only sulphate, but also contained oxide. The degree of formation of the latter increased with the rise of temperature at above 600°C, only oxide was prepared.
    iii) The sulphate produced by roasting was concluded adequately as ferric sulphate.
    The degree of formation of ferric sulphate reached to be 22.8% by roasting at 418°C just above the oxidation temperature of ferrous sulphide. But at fairly higher temperature titan the oxidation temperature, such as 477° and 517°C, ferric oxide was produced abundantly and the formation of ferric sulphate was scarce, regardless of the roasting temperature beeing below the decompositi on temperature of ferric sulphate.
