    The essential points of the electrical prospecting which has been done for the known sulphur deposit and the solfatara area at the Byakurei-sulphur mine located south-east from Mt. Shirane (Kusatsu) in Gumma-Ken, are as follows.
    (a) The distribution of the underground mine potentials are appeared as the lowest at the lowest-level of adits, and gradually higher at upper levels. And the edge of the beds are appeared less potentials than the center of adits.
    (b) Earth surface (upper part of the known-bed) is appeared the positive center of high potentials and low potentials are shown around of it. Accordingto the (a) and (b) phenomenon we could decide that the oxidation of the deposit is done remarkably from the upper part of the deposit to the bottom and the fact that porous minerals and rocks are deposited from middle part of the deposit to the edge seems to be easily affected by chemical solution. So, the oxidation and the diffusion of the deposit are actively done.
    (c) The solufatara area is appeared high potential including positive center, and the causes of this fact are as follows.
    1) The surface temperature of the sulphur erupting area is remarkably higher than the other area and is from 60 to 80 degrees for centigrade.
    2) There are no surface soil around the erupting area, that means are decided of the sulphur deposit.
    Therefore, the oxidation is not so remarkably occured compared with the others.

    The strength of the rocks around a shaft bottom opening was studied by model tests barodynamically. When a shaft reaches a certain depth, failure begins on the roof, especially between the horizontal level and the shaft. The ratio of strength of rock to the initial stress at a point where first failure appears is considered to indicate the strength concerning to the shape of uederground opening. The ratio, Ks or Kt, for the shaft bottom opening is 0.40 or 0.23. It was regarded that rocks around the opening have strength 50-66% as that of a simple horizontal circular level.

    Before the excavation of galleries the rock around them indicates the originaltemperature of the strata, but as soon as the air begins circulating through the galleries, therock temperature is affected by the air.
    Author has theoritically demonstrated the change of rock temperature due to air current supposing that the gallery is a circular tunnel driven through the infinite rock body.

    We studied the production of metallic lead by the electrolysis of the fused salts:-PbCl2-PbS-KOl ternary system. Results obtained:
    (1) Current efficiency 90-95% was obtained. In that case the conditions of electrolysis are as follows: Electrolytic voltage 3 volts, Electrolytic temperature 520°C, Electrolyte PbS 10-16%, KCl 8-15%, PbCl2 remain.
    (2) Above fused salts are proper electrolyte, having low melting point and high electric conductivity.
    (3) Composition of the PbS-PbCl2-KCl is KCl 21%, PbS 8%, PbCl2 71% and eutectic temperature is 409°C. Its electric conductivity is considerably high and, for example, at the range of KCl 30%, PbS 30%, PbCl2 70%. It is about 0.6-3.0 Ω-1 cm-1.
    (4) Extraction per centage is near 100 per cent and purity of obtained metallic lead is influenced by the properties of lead bearing ores.
