The authors made an investigation as to how the current density, the concentration of raw sulfuric acid and the temperature exerted an influence upon the concentration of sulfuric acid by the ion exchange membrane method. The following were the results thus obtained:
1) With an increase in the current density, the amount of concentrated ions and the volume of penetrating solution increased, but the current efficiency decreased to some extent.
2) With an increase in the concentration of raw solution, the volume of penetrating solution slightly decreased, but the current efficiency did not change.
3) With the rise of temperature, the apparent current efficiency increased, but the net current efficiency did not change.
4) In general, the current efficiency in the electrolytic concentration of sulfuric acid was much lower than in that of neutral salt solution.
