In the Previous Paper(1), the authors calculated graphically the kinds and amounts of salts to be deposited by the low temperature treatments of brines and bitterns. In this paper, the validity of such graphical method was discussed by using the experimental data of Shimizu and Harada(2) and of Nishimura(3).
As the first step, the 5 component isothermal equilibrium diagrams of oceanic salts at 5 °C and 3 °C was drawn by interporating the diagrams of J. D'Ans.
By these diagrams,(1) the kinds and (2) the amounts of the salts to bie deposited,(3) the composition of the mother liquor,(4)the limits of the sulphate elimination and (5) the composition of the salts deposited, were computed. The results coincided fairly well with the values actually determined. The authors concluded that, such method is fairly reliable and man be used as the fundamental operation in the case of planning of investigation, of factory manipulation etc.
