Redevelopment in built-up areas which have the characteristics of inner city or urban sprawl has played an important role in detached housing provision after the collapse of the bubble economy. However, such small-scale and fragmented renewal in areas of dilapidated housing and population decline does not necessarily lead to population growth. The life cycle of population and housing in old built-up areas, as well as economic factors such as the collapse of the bubble economy, has influenced housing development.

The Todoroki Valley , which is famous as the only ravine in Tokyo wards, has been said that it had been formed by Stream Piracy which the Yazawa River deprived the flow path of the Kuhonbutsu River(Kaizuka, 1975). However detailed topographical survey has not been done in this area because of artificial river modifications of 1930’s which had extinguished a knick point(the Himeno Fall) located upstream of the piracy point. Recently some historical records were found and have been introduced(Takasugi, 2011). The authors examined the documents and could restore a longitudinal profile of river bed of the Yazawa River prior to artificial modifications had been performed. Based on the profile, we clarified a historical development of landforms of the Yazawa River upstream portion from the Todoroki Valley to the Himeno Fall.

This paper studies the regional difference in dialect in Aomori Prefecture, especially re-examining the dialect in the border of Tsugaru and Nambu dialect areas, based on the authors' research conducted in the same border area. It also observes generational differences in the usage and recognition of the dialect and in the feelings of people using it. Previous studies have indicated that the border of the two dialect areas coincided with that of Tsugaru and Nambu domains in the Edo period. This study reconfirms the fact that that stands the test of time even after 20 years. However, a few Tsugaru words appear to penetrate into Nambu region. A dialect transition area, centered on Noheji Train Station, exists. Concerning the generational differences in the usage and recognition of dialect, it is clear that young people do not tend to speak or know local vocabulary. However, the decreasing trend varies from word to word, and some dialectal words are often used by the younger generation too. Finally, feeling about dialect differs with age and is observed in terms of the words spoken to people from Tokyo. The research clarified that there is a major difference between the attitudes by people in their seventies and older and those by younger generations born after the war and that approximately three quarters of the latter use Aomori dialect and common Japanese words according to the situation.

The reporter has presented about "Digital Atlas" system for geography education at the last conference, March 30th 2015.This presentation is a report as fixed version,
The reporter knows some improvement.First, the application software, that is presented in the last conference has a small genelarization.Because the software is rent by the software maker, not for sale and shere everybody.Second, though the last software need to use internet network, there is a ploblem for copylight.
To fix the problem, the reporter changed software, and made a "offline system".Teachers can install maps to their tablet computer, and make a link to photograph or article of newspaper.
The reporter and his students has made a teaching method for school excersion to Okinawa. They installed topographical map(old one,and new one),and old and new newspaper. When they watched on the field, they could know about local history and geography so more.
The soft ware "PDF Maps"is freeware.Althoh it is difficult for teacher to make a geotiff map and geotag article, the reporter believe that this is the best way to spred a "Digital Atlas System" now.

The situation of radiation exposure and effects of the health are different by the length and location of pathway. So we analyzed the pathway of the Hiroshima atomic bomb indirect exposed survivors using GIS(Sato et al,2014). In this study, we aimed to clarify the difference of radiation effects of the Hiroshima atomic bomb indirect exposed survivors by their pathway. The results were surmised as follows. 1)Analysis of the relationship between the age at exposure and the total distance of pathway, we could not see the difference by the sex and age. 2)Analysis of the relationship between the age at exposure and the shortest distance from the hypocenter, we could not see the difference by the sex and age. 3)Increase the risk of malignant neoplasms, as the total distance of pathway is long and the shortest distance from the hypocenter is close. In particular, when we focused on the shortest distance, the risk of malignant neoplasms could see higher within 500m from the hypocenter.

Official meteorological observation in Japan by Japan meteorological Agency(JMA) has been established in the 1870s. Our study group has been make an effort to recover early meteorological observeation data prior to the JMA period. We have newly recovered instrumental precipitation data series in the 1860s observed by J.C. Hepburn at Yokohama. By analyzing this precipitation data series, we found out unusual heavy rainfall
were observed during warm season of 1868. Several documentary records around Tokyo area also indicate that heavy rainfall frequently occurred during warm season of 1868.
