This study analyse the effects of a centralized-type compact city design on the accessibility using public transportations, and find implications for the urban policy of Aomori city. Simulations are conducted along these measures: 1) the migration into inner areas in whole city area; 2) improvement in frequency of bus transportation in a suburb. This study’s major findings are as follows: accessibility to the central station is improved with those measures and is well improved for the elderly people. It is effective under the situation that migration level is 50% and frequency of bus is increased until 5 times more.

We estimated victim’s evacuation behavior by using their geographical and demographic personal data. Geographical data are victim’s address, victim’s sex and age, damage level of dwelling house and
uses of building. As a result, following points were made clear.
1. Inability to evacuate, or had a family who does not attempt to escape is considered to have led to the
generation of a plurality of dead or missing.
2. As a whole Yamada, the highest dead/missing rate occurred in the case of residential house has been "washed away". It is about four times the case dwelling house is a "large-scale partial destruction or less".
3. There were many victims in the surrounding area of Funakoshi elementary school. They could not find a critical change of sea surface because of high sea walls and several big factory and warehouse buildings. Such a lack of information seems to be one of causes of the delay of the evacuation.

The purpose of this report is to investigate spatial distribution of hometowns of students attending at nursing care schools located in Fukuoka-city. This investigation is important in order to consider whether the schools are recruiting students effectively.
Nursing care schools increased around 2000, but most of them faced a shortage of students since 2005. The graduates have many qualified certification of nursing care and are working in the same establishments for more than 3 years. Therefore, the graduates can contribute to make up for labor shortage in this industry in that they are able to supply good quality of service.

Flood disaster around Kinu River associated with Kanto-Tohoku heavy rainfall on September 2015 caused severe damages around Joso City and Shimotsuma City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The boundary of flooded area was located generally around boundary between lowland (ex. backmarsh) and relative higher lowland (ex. natural levee) in Joso City. On the other hand, a part of Pleistocene terraces on landform classification map for flood control were flooded in Shimotsuma City. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between flooded area and landform at the site by comparing the flooded area data, landform classification map for flood control, and airborne LiDAR DEM data.
