Interference sometimes causes a serious problem in a television signal. This paper describes interference suppression by use of a constrained least mean-squares adaptive array antenna. The adaptive array antenna adjusts the array pattern in real time to suppress the interference signal while a desired signal is preserved by a constraint. First, the adequate constraint is proposed. Then, the paper describes the interference suppression performance achieved by the adaptive array antenna. Numerical results show that the array antenna has sufficient capability to satisfactorily suppress the interference. Finally, the adaptive array antenna absolute gain is calculated as a function of element spacing. It is possible to obtain element spacing which gives the required absolute gain
