An investigation of the experiments and design of a double-hyperbolic nonplanar aperture type cosec
2-beam horn antenna is described. The cosec
2-beam radiation pattern is synthesized by a combination of two parts of hyperbolic apertures. The larger part is used as a main-part to concentrate the radiation power. The smaller part is used as a sub-part to fill in the electric field null due to the main-part.
The experimental results show that it is possible to obtain the high-gain and broad-band cosec2-beam horn antenna by using the E-plane sectoral horn whose aperture length is less than 10 wavelengths.
