Incomplete charge transfer from the photo-diode into the vertical CCD causes CCD image lag. CCD imager and vidicon type camera tube similarities permit CCD image lag study by analytic methods used with vidicon capacitive image lag.
The CCD image lag for the field time storage mode is not considerably different from the frame time storage mode lag. However, the first field always has a 50%image lag for the frame time storage mode lag. However, the first field always has a 50% image lag fog the frame time storage mode. Phenomena for horizontally oscillating image lags in frame time storage mode are discussed moving object image edges.
A complete charge transfer mode image lag was not a problem for practical use.
