Analytical data are presented for 23 inorganic elements (B, Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, K, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Br, Sr, Mo, Cd, and Sb) in the shoot of three aquatic bryophytes (Ectropothecium subobscurum Thér., Vesicularia inflectans (Brid.) C. Muell., and Lopholejeunea sp.) collected from streams in New Caledonia. The results show a high content of Ni (690 μg/g), Cr (254 μg/g) and Br (210 μg/g) in the shoot of Ectropothecium subobscurum, a high content of Ni (156 μg/g) and Cr (44 μg/g) in Vesicularia inflectans and a high content of Mn (15300 μg/g) and Zn (269 μg/g) in Lopholejeunea sp. Analytical data are also presented for chloride, nitrate, sulfate and 22 inorganic elements in water in which the bryophytes were found growing.
